First Pick Builders is excited about our re-designed website spotlighting our core values and focusing on improving our service. Our intent is to provide our clients and fellow construction partners a place to either contact us, or research the products we install.

Training
First Pick Builders has scheduled training classes for Fire and Mold Damage which we will be attending in the Bay Area in October. A meeting with our local Trex decking field representative is being arranged to discuss recent updates to the deck industry.
We are Donating Tile
We are currently seeking qualified organizations, including churches and schools, to which to donate our unused and broken tile for projects of any kind. A quick call to my cell 707-489-8159 is all you need to do. Our hope is that we can provide a fun and inexpensive way to supply tile to those who need these materials, while keeping our pledge to reduce our impact on our county landfill.
Craftsmanship
Building Codes: Are all these building codes really necessary?
One of the earliest known building codes was developed in the Babylonian
Empire around 2000 BC and was attributed to the king, Hammarabi. One of his
laws provided for the following:If a builder has built a house for a man and his work is not strong, and if
the house he built falls in and kills the householder, that builder shall be slain.
If the child of the householder should be killed, the child of that builder shall be
slain.
If the slave of the householder should be killed, he shall give a slave to the
householder.
If goods have been destroyed, because the house was not made
strong, and it has fallen in, he shall restore the fallen house out of his own
material.
If a builder has built a house for a man, and his work is not done
properly and a wall shifts, then that builder shall make that wall good with his own
silver.
As you know, our laws have changed over the years, but the importance of building a quality structure has been around for many thousands of years.
